Columbus has become a controversial topic these days but I doubt he ever intended it to be that way.
He broke the isolation of the continents in the sense that there was no interaction between the Americas and Europe before his time.

Columbus was an explorer.
Love him or hate him, we can appreciate the fact that he explored strange new worlds & boldly went where no man had gone before. Let’s enjoy this Columbus Day off by discovering something new that we’ve never done before.
