My First time at a Renaissance Faire

I wish I could say that the sun was warm and the day was beautiful but the truth is that it had rained all night and the ground was soggy. We didn’t have much time because I had to go to work but I was determined to go and see what a Renaissance Faire was. I had heard all about them and I loved history. I was so excited! We paid at the gate and the immersion experience began. People talking with thee’s and thou’s wearing amazing costumes (found out later it was called garb). The sights and sounds overwhelmed me. The smells of meat cooking wafted through the air and there were sounds of horses and metal armor chinking as a knight walked by.

At that moment I knew. I knew that I wanted to be a part of this world. A cry went forth “Make way for the Queen!” As the queen passed by people bowed and instantly I felt a part of this very old world.
We had a blast looking at all the shops and watching the joust. It all had to end too soon. But I was determined to become a part of this.

To become a player or an actor as it were.

Shakespeare Said “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”
